Unique 3D™ Maps
Most maps are now available in "Unique 3D", a trademarked process that has been developed and refined over decades.
You can order a Unique 3D map in two ways:
- Visit my collection of Unique 3D maps. These maps have already undergone the Unique 3D process, so you can see how they look
- Find any other map on my shop and then add the Unique 3D add-on item. This map will then be transformed just for you. We will send you a draft of the 3D map, so that you can approve it, before we send it out.
If you order a Unique 3D map, it will undergo a beautifully dramatic transformation that adds a wonderful sense of depth to your map. Every Unique 3D order is processed by hand to ensure we perfectly capture the nuances of the colour, detail and topography of your map.

Unique 3D maps are made by combining ultra high resolution land elevation (altitude) data, and sometimes ocean bathymetry, with old maps, and then processing them in a special way that gives the appearance of bright peaks and mountain ranges throwing deep shadows.
While the map looks remarkably 3D, particularly when framed behind glazing, it is actually 2D and not physically raised from the paper.
